Rhinoplasty/Nose job Improved
The nose is central and of paramount importance in creating a beautiful face. When it’s the right size in width and projection, there is a better blending of all the facial elements. It is the balance of all the facial elements that creates a beautiful face. Excellence in rhinoplasty requires also correct analysis. In my practice the patient and I would typically analyze the ‘before and after’ pictures to assure that both the patient and the surgeon (me) have the same cosmetic results in mind. The before and after pictures are emailed and discussed on line prior to scheduling surgery. Now that patient and I that we’re on the same page aesthetically, I look for the correct nasal plastic surgical techniques that would be needed to achieve those goals; and any particular challenges I might for see. I would discuss these with the patient. Once the surgery is booked, the patient is instructed not to take aspirin or NSAIDS for two week before the surgery. The surgery itself takes about an hour and is usually performed under general anesthesia at a nearby surgery center. My patients usually have an easier more comfortable post-op course because I don’t pack the nose after surgery. This results in easier breathing and sleeping the day of the surgery – more comfort and less disruption. After the surgery I recommend, no bending, lifting, straining, nose blowing or sneezing for a week. Excellent, but early results are present 1 week after the surgery, when the cast and the underlying taping are removed. Most of the skin bruising is gone by then. There’s minimal pain after the surgery, but patient’s can take pain medicines as needed. Most patients take a week off after the surgery, but this isn’t always necessary. We would continue to assess the post op healing and aesthetic results periodically during the first year. Minor adjustments can be made during those meetings if needed (eg. injecting medical grade silicone – micro droplet technique). These adjustments can insure a Permanent, aesthetically superior result, especially in difficult cases (asymmetric faces or multiple traumas)! No other rhinoplasty or nose job surgeon has or uses this tool to make these post-operative changes. They can only offer re-operation for further improvements - at increased cost in time and expense! This won’t happen with my patients! I offer these mini adjustments (when necessary) free of charge in the office! I think that my approach to each patient almost guarantees an excellent result. I am committed to excellence for all my patients - always! This hasn’t changed over the last 30 years in my practice of medicine.
